Table 4 Association of any fibrosis (≥1) significant fibrosis (≥2), portal inflammation, and markedly increased (≥2) biomarker levels at first follow-up with liver status (normal in 36 and suboptimal in 12) at the final assessment. Data are presented as number of patients and percent across rows. Some of the biopsies were insufficient for all 6 stainings or for a reliable evaluation of the 3 histological areas. For this reason, the number of scored samples shows some variation between the different stainings.

α-SMA – α-smooth muscle actin; PSGL-1 – P-selectin glycoprotein ligand-1. * Liver status was recorded as abnormal if there had been a re-LT, diagnosis of chronic rejection or if there were 1 or more of the following laboratory findings: total bilirubin level over 25 μmol/L, GT over 50 U/L, ALT over 60 U/L, and TT value ** p-value for the significance of the dependency calculated with Fisher’s exact test. |
