A current challenge in renal transplantation is to develop immunosuppressive regimens without adverse effects including nephrotoxicity and cardiovascular risk. A significant number of presentations were focused on steroid or caliceurin inhibitor avoidance regimens. New immunosuppressive agents compensated steroid or CNI avoidance have become available. A novel strategy includes minimising of maintenance immunosuppression through the
aggressive use depletion induction therapy.
